Information about Internships at FES Beirut

 

The Beirut Office of the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation Beirut offers a practical
learning experience for interns who are interested in the work of international
cooperation with a variety of partner organizations. If you are interested in undertaking an internship at the FES Beirut, please have a look at our requirements:

- advanced students with a preferred academic background in Social Studies or Humanities
- Knowledge of languages: English (fluent), French.
Applicants with a sound knowledge of Arabic will be favored
- Interest in socio-political issues
- Computer skills
- reliability, commitment and team spirit

What are your tasks?

Assistance in daily office work, independent preparation and organization of
conferences and visitor programs, participation at seminars and workshops,
attendance of delegations from abroad, writing of texts and papers.

What do we offer?

Interns at FES Beirut will have the chance to experience a stimulating and
challenging working atmosphere.
Since the intern’s tasks always depend on individual competencies in
accordance with the current working program, we advise to bring along a
‘project’ (e.g. research for master thesis, diploma etc.). In agreement to its capacities the office will assist you in this regard.
The internship should last about three months in order to guarantee a
satisfactory outcome for both sides.
Kindly note, that the office of the FES Beirut doesn’t offer internships during the
summertime (July – mid September).
FES cannot provide you with financial support, all the expenses connected
with the internship (flight, insurance, and accommodation) must be
covered by you. Nevertheless, the foundation can assist the candidate in the
search for an apartment.
